Elder Scrolls Forum: My quest to remove irritating sound from chicken in Cait's Critters

This is just a little info on a problem I had with a certain sound from a chicken in Cait's Critters. It is just some info on how I fixed the problem using TESCS from a newbie standpoint, so read on if you are bored.

The problem I had was that the chickens and roosters in Seyda Neen were sometimes giving this irritating growling sound, other times they sounded normal. I narrowed it down to the mod Cait's Critters. So, I opened up TESCS and made the mod active. Then I searched for sounds. Turns out that normally there are 3 voice sounds for each creature...a moan sound, a roar sound, and a scream sound. The chicken was missing a roar sound, and the rooster was missing both a roar and a scream sound. It was defaulting to some unknown sound for the roar and scream that I had yet to find.

After doing a little more searching in the sound area of TESCS, I found that it was using a default wolf roar sound. Thats is one mean chicken, lol. Wave files were already in place for the chicken and rooster but just not being used.

Now I had to somehow fix the issue. No problem, as you can add sounds. So, I added the missing sounds in the table, then matched the sound id with the appropriate sounds. Works great now, no more chickies roaring at me.
